Led by founders Justice and Brenna Wickstrom, our instructors bring years of varied experience in performance, directing, and youth mentorship. Together, we believe in creating a home away from home where students don’t just learn lines — they learn confidence, connection, and the magic of collaboration. 💫
Hello!
I’m Brenna Wickstrom — founder and Director of Education of Starlight Theatre! I’ve spent over 15 years working as an actress, theatre educator, artist, director, and writer, and I still feel incredibly lucky that my job is to tell stories and help others tell theirs.
Before starting Starlight with my husband, Justice, I served as the Director of Education for The Players Centre in Sarasota, Florida, where I helped rebrand their nearly 100-year-old theatre studio, build new educational programming, and collaborate on projects like Sarasota Libraries’ Storybook Walk and arts integration for Florida’s Early Learning Coalition. But my heart has always been here in Oklahoma.
Over the years, I’ve had the privilege of teaching more than 2,100 students through organizations like Oklahoma Children’s Theatre, Edmond Fine Arts, and Wilson Elementary, where I also received arts integration training through the Kennedy Center.
As an actor, I’ve performed with The Poteet Theatre, Carpenter Square, and UCO, and was even lucky enough to travel to Edinburgh, Scotland to perform in the Fringe Festival with my UCO peers. Some of my favorite roles include Dorothy in The Wizard of Oz, Lady MacDuff in Macbeth, and Lizzie Borden in Blood Relations.
When I’m not writing scripts, or writing and illustrating children's books, I’m usually chasing around my four kids — Noah, Harrison, Ellie and Annie — or getting lost in a good book (my forever favorite is Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban). I love movie nights, coffee runs, and dreaming up new ways to make Starlight a true home for our students and families.
